Ferland Mendy is set to take another medical examination at Real Madrid before completing his transfer to the club, AS reports.
The La-Liga giants moved to wrap up the signing of the left-back from Lyon, but there were some complications in his medical examination, partly because of a hip problem they found. Mendy will undergo another check on Wednesday at Madrid to determine if the hip issue is an insurmountable obstacle as they look to finalise the signing.
Zinedine Zidane requested the signing of Mendy from the club owners and they have worked to make this possible as quickly as they possibly could. Zidane holds that Marcelo will remain his first choice but the presence of Mendy will provide competition that will drive the Brazilian on in the short-term.
23-year-old Mendy is a complete modern full-back. He always attacks and even finds himself in more central positions. He’s physical and fit but also possesses great skill, almost like a new generation version of Marcelo.
