Manchester City and United are both in the race for the signature of Leicester defender, Harry Maguire. However, it is feared that Leicester city could price him out at a record fee for a defender eclipsing the £75 million Liverpool paid for Virgil van Dijk. Leicester intends to hold this stance unless the price tag is met.
The premier league champions, Man City are looking for a replacement for captain Vincent Company who is bound to leave the club to Anderlecht to take on the role of player-manager. The Mirror report that Man City would be willing to pay £60 m for Maguire, a fee on par with what they paid Leicester for Algerian international, Riyad Mahrez.
The Englishman was said to be interested in a move to Old Trafford, following an initial interest from United after the World Cup last summer, but the move never occurred.
The foxes secured Maguire’s signature in 2017 from Hull City at just £17million and he has since gone to establish himself as one of the best center-backs in the Premier League.
